All these giant prehistoric animals have two things in common: they were giant and they are extinct. History teaches us that size doesn’t ensure survival.

This website is partially wrong, there a quite a few mistakes. First of all, Basilosaurus could grow up to 25m, not only 20m. Secondly, Sarcosuchus was a reptile, not an amphibian ( all crocodiles are reptiles ). Then, the Steppe Mammoth was not the largest of the elephants; with up to 6.5 meters, the winner is Archidiskodon, a close relative of the Asian elephant. Also, Titanoboa lived after the dinosaurs, which became extinct 65 million years ago, meaning they weren't around anymore when Titanoboa was alive. It is believed Titanoboa hunted crocodiles. Lastly, Amphicoelias did not live in the Triassic period! It lived in the late Jurassic, 150 million years ago; it also measured about 50m long. Looking at all those mistakes, if I were you, I would consider revising the information you are putting on a website before posting it.

A pregnant Tyrannosaurus rex that roamed Montana 68 million years ago may be the key to discerning gender differences between theropod, or meat-eating dinosaur, species. Researchers from North Carolina State University and the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences have confirmed the presence of medullary bone – a gender-specific reproductive tissue – in a fossilized T. rex femur. Beyond giving paleontologists a definitively female fossil to study, their findings could shed light on the evolution of egg laying in modern birds.

The Moa Bird of New Zealand was the larget bird ever, not the elephant bird of Madagascar, although I believe they were related.

The largest elephant was actually Palaeoloxodon namadicus, and actually may well have been the largest land mammal ever.
