Armpit pain can be caused by many conditions from allergies to lymph nodes diseases. You can soothe the pain by warm bath and keeping hygiene, but it is important to know when to visit a doctor.

What if pain occurs upon waking and extends into chest on the left side. I have been in bed for years due to other health issues and now notice when I just walk to the bathroom my heart beats as if running and out of breath too. My thyroid has been diagnosed as underactive with average body temps of 95 to 93.5. I have mess to help with this but I have terrible pain in area in center of upper tiny between the ribs and this pain causes squeezing in my heart and shortness of breathe? I am overwhelmed and don't know what doctor will help me? Any suggestions?

@ : What age group are you? If you've been in bed for years then lack of exercise is a serious problem, that would explain the elevated heart rate when walking to the bathroom. The other pain across your body from armpit to your ribs is probably squashed muscles, again from lack of exercise and being bed ridden. You could try gentle stretching until yoga is possible, and go outside to get fresh air and take gradual walks, start small, first to front of home then progress to end of street and work up to round the block. Good luck, you just need to get back into the rhythm of life. Baby steps

I'm wondering about an arm pit pain that is presented as a stinging/aching in the arm pit and a floating pain in the shoulder. Could this be one of the injuries? Been ongoing for 2 months.

I woke up 5 days ago with a kink in the left side of my neck, which moved to the upper part of my right shoulder blade the next day, and is now causing me pain in my right armpit. The pain radiates all the way down my arm to my wrist. But it is a more annoying pain than debilitating. When I hold my arm above my head, the pain stops. #6 sounds like it might be my issue, would you agree?

I am a very active 53 yr old male. I walk to 1500 houses 6 days a week putting menus on doors. For the last 2 weeks I been getting really bad pains below my left arm pit. It comes and goes. But when I'm laying down and touch my side below my arm pit it hurts. My doctor says its probably a strained muscle from carrying the papers. I only carry 600 sheets of paper and been doing it for 7 yrs. I dont think its a muscle. Any ideas?

3 months ago I was moving boxes and strained my neck mussels. Now I have this pain under my armpit and my whole arm hurts/burns. On my left side I have a pain that hurts and I feel little pea size nodules. I don't feel good and can't sleep on my left side. Could this be caused by the strain of bending and moving boxes?

Because I have trouble with my knees, when I took a bus tour that had 7 steps leading to the seats, I literally had to pull myself up with my arms, and after taking 5 tours getting on and off the same way, I started having terrible pains in my armpits, I lived thru the trip by taking Tylenol. After getting home, the condition has not gotten any better since necessary housework also takes its toll. Fortunately, I have my yearly appointment with my doctor at the end of the week - I can hardly wait!!

I have a dull ache in my left arm pit. It started late summer 2015 as a dull ache in my arm leading to tingling in my fingers. I have no fall or injury and haven't suffered from a virus or cold recently. The pain in arm pit is not always there but sometimes it almost feels as though it's pulsating I can't find lumps on left breast or under arms. I am on the implant which is also in my left arm but this has been ruled out as the cause. I have a doctor apps tomorrow. Anyone else have similar

@ : Yes almost same things happening to me. For the past few months a pain in my left armpit has been coming and going, when it does hurt certain areas of my armpit are more tender and hurt to press. No previous straining of the muscle, cuts, etc. My Dr. put me on antibiotics for 10 days to see if it was a bacterial infection, just finished them and still have a dull pain. Have yet to go back to the Dr for the follow up appt. to see whats next.
