Unlike what is reported here about the pink dophin or Boto, they are far from extinct. We visited the Amazon recently and were privileged to swim with a pod of about 10 that are fed by the conservation authorities near Manaus. They are friendly and we could touch and pat them. Wonderful experience. We also saw a number of the grey species breaching while feeding at the confluence of the Amazon and Rio Negro.
