Top 6 Best Gundam Series of All Time

1

Gundam Wing

Gundam Wing is the most notable if not the most favored series in the world despite low ratings in Japan. Aired 1995, Gundam Wing sets in After Colony 195 with the start of Operation Meteor, the scientists' tactical plan for revenge against the OZ military organization. The operation revolves around five young boys who have been trained personally by each scientists. These boys are sent to earth on mobile suits known as Gundams that are specially made by each scientists. Heero Yuy, Duo Maxwell, Trowa Barton, Quatre Reberba Winner, and Chang Wufei discover each other and band together to fight against OZ Military to complete their missions.

Will they succeed their mission? That is up to viewers to watch. Gundam Wing is infamous for single-handedly popularized the Gundam franchise among the Western audiences. In that year, Gundam Wing was the top rated program of all ages and became Toonami's most successful series of its run. Definitely takes the top seat, Gundam Wing is agreed by many that although it may not have the special effects like Gundam 00, the story and the character development is by far unrivaled to that of its predecessors and successors which is the highlight of the show.

2

Gundam 00

Gundam 00 introduces more special effects into the Gundam series. Debuting at 2007, the series set in 2307 A.D where fossil fuels have been long gone. Humanity now relies on three major solar power stations controlled by three major factions; the Union, HRL, and the AEU. These three factions and their allies benefited from these new resources while many minor countries continue to fight in twenty year long wars.

This creates an organization known as "Celestial Being" whose goal is to eradicate wars through wars. Together with development of highly advanced mobile suits known as "Gundams", Celestial Being sets out to fight for peace through warfare. The beautifully well choreographed fight scenes together with advanced computer graphics stun the audience of magnificent fights and continues to thrill with each episode definitely makes this series the number two spot of this ranking.

3

Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack

Mobile Suit Gundam Char's Counterattack ranks pretty high for its final sequence of the original timeline. Aired in 1988, Char's Counterattack revolves around the hero of Earth Federation, Amuro Ray and his long term rival, Char Aznable.

The story begins with Char developing a new Neon Zeon movement in UC 0093. Their goal is to cause a nuclear winter and force people of Earth to live in space. In response, the Earth Federation creates a special task force, the London Bell task force, and sends them to search and destroy anti-federation movements. Lt. The series revolve around the protagonist Domon Kasshu who is forced to enter the Gundam Fight in order to free his father from his arrest and defeat the Ultimate Gundam, piloted by his antagonist brother Kyoji Kasshu. This begins with our titular main character, Flit Asuno who was a seven-year-old at the time. In AG 108 the U.E attacks his colony, known as Orvan, and loses his mother in the process of escaping.

Together with the Asuno heirloom, the "AGE device", Flit has sworn he would protect the world by developing his plans to resurrect the Gundams. The series show an interesting format in which it has three major arcs; the first being the Flit arc, then the Asemu Arc, and then the final arc Three Generation Arc. This is the first Gundam series in which there are three generations of "protagonists", in their respective arcs, fight together to protect humanity against the U.E.
