This is a wonderful cite that covers just about all the facts i needed to know. It amuses me that when the body decomposes many specimens and insects help in this process.

Thank you, that's an extremely useful article. I have a dead dog that I want to turn into a skeleton without boiling first (too big); according to what you have written, it seems that in a month or so he should be ready.

The idea that bacteria require oxygen is actually false. Quite a numerous amount of bacteria are obligate anaerobes and would die in the presence of oxygen. One such example would be clostridum tetani, which releases the toxin tetanospasmin, the causative agent of tetanus. So yes, while some bacteria are facultatice anaerobes (they can produce ATP in both oxygenated and deoxygenated environment) a large sum of obligate anaerobes are poisoned In the presence of the aforementioned molecule. Just my two cents.

Allah is most merciful. When u die the real life begins. If you have done good here inshallah you will be rewarded hereafter. Like it says in the quran. Allah sees an atom weight of good and its not hidden and he sees an atom weight of bad so everyone has opportunity to seek truth

We cleaned out a house where a man was dead for 5 days, thank God no smell and it was summer. That's 07-01-16. My question is this , after five days no smell is that normal? Thanks

For the body to decomposed depend on environmental influences & number of microbes {bacteria, fungi, etc} that are available within and where the body were deposited.
